One of the guests of our shelter tells us about himself.
I am an ordinary resident of Kramatorsk. I finished 11 grades at a secondary school.
Until I was 16, I lived with my mother (now I’m 18), and eventually moved out.
The local administration learned about me and quickly helped me with a plot of land and a house where no one had lived for many years. That’s where I set up my life.
I was looking for a job so that I could live. It was in a forestry, a cafe, a service center, where I was hired and went.
Sometimes it was very difficult to live in such conditions, but I always found a way out of any situation, and I met good people everywhere.
I spent all my free time on my motorcycle and scooter, which I bought with my own money.
I studied at the computer academy “SHAG”, but I constantly lacked money for studying, it was very difficult to study at school and at the computer academy, I did not finish my studies because it was physically difficult to study and earn money at the same time, my health did not allow it.
From the beginning of the full-scale war in the country, I tried to live against all odds. One day, when I went to work and was having lunch, I received a call and was shown on a video c
all that a missile from “those pigs” had come across the road and my house was like a cardboard box, which made me sell the scooter that survived and leave my hometown as soon as possible.
I traveled by bus, then by train, and it took me more than a day to get to Lviv.
Upon arrival, I planned to travel abroad, but was not allowed to do so because I did not have the appropriate documents.
Since then, almost three weeks have passed since I have been in Lviv. And I am very grateful to everyone who works in the shelter where I am now, they are the best in their field. Thanks to the job recruiter, Valeriy got an official job and is working in Lviv.
Now he needs even more time and energy to settle and get used to this… other completely new life.
