On June 6, 2023, in Lviv the “Boris Voznytskyi” charitable foundation opened a Center for the Support and Protection of Ukrainians, who were evacuated from occupied territories and active combat zones.
The shelter is located in a two-story building with a total area of 400 м² and has 17 rooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and a dining room. Up to 70 people can be accommodated in the shelter at the same time and about two hundred Ukrainians can be helped there in a month.
The foundation will provide shelter residents with food, hygiene products, clothing and other necessary items. In addition, volunteers will provide people with informational, psychological and legal support.
The full-scale war has been going on for the second year, as has the evacuation of people from the frontline and occupied territories of Ukraine. We do our best to ensure a safe and comfortable life for these people. The shelter was not the first, but it is currently our biggest step towards this.
The charity foundation “Leroy Merlin Solidarity” helped implement this project. Volunteers provided all necessary materials for construction and furnishing. We thank everyone who contributed to the opening of the shelter. We can give hope for a happy future to hundreds of people together.
