With the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, hundreds of boarding schools were forced to evacuate children to safer regions of Ukraine. The Berezkivska boarding school welcomed over 200 children displaced from the Ochakiv, Kherson, and Pokrovsk communities. Given the ongoing hostilities, the number of children is only growing.
However, the institution’s material and technical base is not ready to provide decent conditions for such a large number of children. Of particular concern are the shower rooms, bathrooms, boiler room, and laundry room. The lack of adequate facilities not only makes it difficult to ensure hygiene, but also negatively affects the psychological well-being and health of the children.
To improve living conditions and create a safe and dignified environment, the team at the Support and Protection Center Charitable Foundation initiated a project to renovate one of the facility’s buildings.

Key project stages:
• Renovation and redesign of shower rooms, equipping them with modern sanitary equipment.
• Complete modernization of bathrooms, ensuring inclusivity and safety standards.
• Creation of a new boiler room to provide hot water for all children.
• Renovation and equipping of the laundry room as an important element in maintaining sanitary conditions.
Realization was made possible with the support of:
