Yesterday in the interactive room we held a special workshop with a wonderful volunteer Polina from the “Туристична Українська родина – ТУР”. In the group, we shared our dreams and hobbies, and discussed how our anxiety changes our desires and influences our choice of hobbies. At the same time, the children created their own unique dream catcher.
Why is this event important?
Emotional support: Children often experience fears and anxieties related to war. Open conversations help them feel that they are not alone in their experiences.
Creativity as therapy: Creating a dreamcatcher is not only a fun process, but also a way to express their emotions. Children put positive thoughts into their work, which helps reduce anxiety.
Sleep protection: The dream catcher will become a symbol of protection and peace. It’s a reminder that good dreams can always overcome bad ones.
Socialization: Joint activities help children feel the support of their peers, which is extremely important in this difficult time.
We hope that the dream catcher will become not just a decoration for our children’s rooms, but a reliable protection that will protect them from negative thoughts and feelings.
We would like to express our special gratitude for the implementation and funding of the Shelter project to The Government of the Faroe Islands
