Last week, an evacuation took place from the Zaporizhzhia region. We provided temporary shelter to 40 more people.
It is always an incredible stress for both adults and children, so the entire team of volunteers is doing everything possible to distract our new residents from negative emotions. An interactive room, which functions in the shelter thanks to our partners, also helps with this.
This time, a pedagogical coordinator was drawing trees with families. Yes, just trees, without any additional explanations or recommendations. The projective method “Tree Drawing” reveals the child’s characteristics. It’s a self-portrait, from which you can learn about self-esteem, socialization skills, and identify key traits of character. This can be turned into an engaging quiz-game: “Is it true that you…?”
Additionally, parents were able to receive recommendations on what to focus on during their child’s current stage of development. After all, parents are the ones who build their child’s self-esteem. With repeated use of this method, over time, you can see changes in the tree that will reflect changes in the child.
We sincerely thank the NGO “CrimeaSOS” for the opportunity to implement these beneficial programs for children.
